Visiting AMITYVILLE & Revisiting SLEEPAWAY CAMP

What’s John been up to? Glad you didn’t ask. Here’s the rundown…

AMITYVILLE APOCALYPSE has been released, a project born out of circumstance much like my previous ISOLATION ACTIVITY (2021) and guest slot in 5G ZOMBIE (2020). In fact, I’m calling them my Isolation Trilogy, as they were comprised of many creative collaborators in many varied locations, often working alone or with a skeleton crew. 5G was an excuse for me to carry on working during the bizarre events of 2020, ACTIVITY a reason to use studio space we had access to next door from my office space. As for AMITYVILLE, that came long after and was just some silly fun.

More about the project over at Retrosploitation which also has purchase links and the absurd trailer.

After a decade or so of busy-work on other things I finally gave my original SLEEPAWAY CAMP website a spit polish. Ahh, I just can’t quit these movies. What can I say, the first two movies belong in the Library of Congress national movie registry. I really believe that. They pull off exactly what they advertise, and double as time capsules for the early and late tails of the 1980s. And even the website, my earliest multimedia “work” has a long and storied history of 25 years now.
